My name is Monika and I have a passion for nutrition and beautiful wholesome foods. I am currently attending San Diego State University to achieve my Foods and Nutrition degree. My heart is strongly set on becoming a Registered Dietitian. Staying physically fit is exceptionally important to me; working out helps keep my mind and my body in shape. That combined with my love for the healthy-versions of foods that I crave is what keeps me happy. These are all my own recipes and creations and photos (unless otherwise stated).

I began my weight-loss journey when I was a Junior in high school. I was nowhere near overweight, but I was truly unhappy with my appearance and knew only I could do something about it. I signed myself up at a local gym and got myself in there everyday. I was completely oblivious to the proper “forms” that lifting weights required so you can imagine how apprehensive I was to exert myself, but I fought through  all the negativity and pushed it out of of my mind and went for it. After almost a year of extensive research on different exercises, boring cardio, and pairing this with healthier eating habits (i.e low fat, less carbs, consuming less calories and more water) I finally got to my goal weight; this wasn’t the end of the road for me. I had found a new passion I never knew existed; I realized I was in love with the way I felt. Finally, I had begun a life where I was now taking care of myself, unlike all the years of not caring what I put in my body and remaining ignorant. To this day, I am always looking for new and exciting workouts, along with concocting creatively nutritious dishes.

Since I’ve made the conscious decision to change my lifestyle, I feel absolutely wonderful of where I am at in my life. I LOVE to learn about the world of nutrition and I also love that I learn something about myself everyday. I am not on a “diet”, I am not interested in losing weight, I am simply living out a healthy life and creating absolutely delicious (well i think so ;-p) recipes where I am feeding my body with the proper nutrients it so much deserves! It’s all about balance my friends ❤

If I can help make a difference in your life in any way, please let it be to show you that it is truly worth it to take care of yourself. There is no competition, except with only yourself; strive to become a better ‘you’ day by day.

In other words, if you’re craving ANYTHING, at least let it be “A Craving For Wholesome”
